The Okaloosa Middle School All-County Band is made up of the best musicians in all of Okaloosa County! This is an incredible achievement and our students grow tremendously simply by going through the audition process. We are proud of our students for challenging themselves and celebrate those who are selected and represent the top middle school musicians in our county! All-County auditions will take place on Wednesday November 20th at Lewis MS. The audition consists of 7 major scales (performed by memory within 2 minutes 30 seconds), the chromatic scale (performed by memory), 2 prepared etudes, and sight-reading.

Private Lessons
Private lessons allow students to progress quickly due to individualized instruction. Weekly lessons (paired with consistent practice at home) are highly recommended for the best results! Summer Band Camp Opportunities
Participating in summer band camps is an amazing way to keep your student engaged in music-making over the summer. In addition to gaining new experiences, students are exposed to new music and instruction, make new friends, and improve their own musicianship. They return to their home programs in a great position to start the new year, and many end up making the All County and All State Bands!

2024-2025 Solo and Ensemble
This is an INCREDIBLE and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED performance opportunity for students in grades 6-8. Students prepare a solo or ensemble piece of music and perform for an expert on their instrument for an official rating and meaningful feedback. In 2024, the Davidson Band had a total of 102 student participants with 81 SUPERIOR ratings! This is an incredible achievement, and we are so proud our students who stepped out of their comfort zone to grow as both musicians and people. We are lucky to work with students who seek out these opportunities and are so willing to push themselves to level up!

2024-2025 All-State Band
Acceptance into the All-State Middle School Concert Band is the greatest achievement a middle school student can receive! Simply auditioning is a huge accomplishment, and no matter the results, the process helps your student become a better musician and human! This is highly recommended for students entering grades 7/8. All-State auditions will take place on September 14th, 2024 at Milton HS. Audition times TBA.
